First drawn in 2004 and based in Paris, France, EuroMillions has grown to become the European lotto draw par excellence. The minimum jackpot starts at €7 million but can increase to a maximum of €250 million if it rolls over week on week. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 13. The odds of winning the EuroMillions jackpot are 1 in 139,838,160, which is achieved by matching all 5 numbers from a pool of 50 and correctly guessing both Lucky Numbers. However, even if you don't win a jackpot, EuroMillions has 13 prize tiers, with amounts potentially running into the 100s of 1,000s.

How does betting on the EuroMillions differ from buying a ticket in the draw?

As a multi-national lottery, players in nine European countries can participate in the EuroMillions draw, including Austria, Belgium, France, Spain and the UK. Players in these countries can buy a physical ticket from a licensed retailer; otherwise, they can buy tickets by signing up on the EuroMillions website. Anyone outside these countries cannot purchase a ticket in the same way. However, that doesn't mean they cannot participate at all.

Should you win a prize, this is usually credited to your account promptly. However, for higher prize tiers and jackpots, additional verification checks may be required.
